How can I work with the API? Do I need to read 1000 pages of documentation? #
To answer the last question: No! #
The first question is what exactly should be implemented. If I don’t know what I want to achieve with call tracking and the API connection, it will end in a fiasco.
What questions should I ask myself? #
Let’s take a typical example:
Trading platform in the automotive industry – simple setting.
Through my platform, dealers can sell used cars and new cars to customers.
What is my goal for call tracking?
I want to use call tracking to be able to show my dealer how many calls he has received through my platform.
The dealer will be informed acoustically and then by email that a call has been generated by “automobilfinder.ch”.
So the dealer knows that my platform is the right one for him because I generate a lot of leads and deal with them transparently. I may then also be able to charge my customers (the dealers) on a “pay-per-lead” model.
So what do I need from matelso?
To achieve the above goal, I need the following functions or services from matelso:
– Call tracking of phone numbers
– Acoustic notification during a call for the merchant (Call Whisper)
– Email notification after a call (Call Messaging)
– Number of accepted & missed calls per merchant
What API features do I need to use to achieve my goal?
Create merchants with Matelso:
Using the response received (subscriber ID, subscriber prefix [NDC], pool size=1), book a call tracking number using the following function:
Now use the received response to enable routing to the merchant and audible notification:
Now that the call tracking phone number is reachable, we also enable email notification (setup call messaging ):
How do I get call data from matelso?
There are two ways:
Possibility 1:
Initiator: YOU – cyclic polling of calls – method:
Possibility 2:
Initiator: matelso – real-time transmission using integration 2.0 – example:
