After setting up call tracking, there is always a bit of heightened awareness of incoming calls. For callers who didn’t actually want to be put through to you, there is often a fear that something is wrong with the routing/call tracking.
What could be the reason for this? #
In most cases, the reason for such callers is a misdirected web campaign or advertisement that was previously displayed to the caller. This can happen quickly with similar services or names. In this case, we recommend to check the corresponding places.
A rare case is that the phone number assigned by matelso is still published by other companies or people. Every phone number that is assigned by us is no longer available for at least 6 months before it is reassigned. Of course, we cannot prevent others from not properly removing their disconnected numbers. In these cases, we simply recommend booking a new number pool with us or alerting the operators to their outdated information.
Of course, there are still the usual human errors such as when entering the number that can lead to such cases.
Are you sure it’s not the routing? #
If you are unsure about the routing, you can easily check it. By calling a call tracking number you can check the routing of this number. If you are put through to the set forwarding destination, matelso’s routing is working correctly.
If you are still unsure, you can ask what number the caller dialed and where they got it from.
