Attention, this article refers to the version of Google Analytics Universal that is no longer continued by Google. The latest version of Google Analytics is Google Analytics 4.
This article explains how to add the hostname to the google universal analytics expert push. #
Why would I do this? #
A lot of google universal analytics properties are set up with a filter to remove all events where the hostname is empty or not equal to the website’s one.
This could lead to lost call events and therefore should be prevented.
How do I configure the hostname? #
To add the hostname in the expert push, navigate to “Configuration”->”Integrations 2.0″ in the control panel and select the Google Analytics Expert Push.
After you have selected the push, a pop-up opens. In this pop-up, you are asked whether you want to link the push or edit it. Select edit here.
In the push configuration, select “dh (Document Host)” as the GET parameter.
Next, click on the magnifying glass to select the host name in the DDD with the attribute “LASTNOTEMPTY”.
Then click on add and save the push.
Do not forget to save!
